The Victor Jara Lane project evolved as an attempt to commemorate the revolutionary Chilean teacher, theatre director, poet, composer and political activist as well as foster neighbourhood identity by recognizing the ongoing presence of Chilean immigrants in the City. The lane is located one block south of Davenport Road and Ossington Avenue.
