Board of Directors

ALEJANDRO ARAUZ, Chair is an artist exploring issues of identity, diaspora, and transplantation through the vernacular of print media, performance, and video. Arauz has participated in various curated solo and group exhibitions throughout Ontario and the USA. Alejandro Arauz is an assistant professor and undergraduate chair in the Fine Art/Visual Art program at Queen's University. Alejandro earned his Honors BFA from the University of Windsor in Canada and an MFA degree from Louisiana State University.

OMAR ESTRADA, Chair is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist born in Cuba. Estrada has exhibited for over thirty years in various international events, such as the Havana Biennial (2006 and 2015), the Absolute L.A. Biennial, USA (2003), the Caribbean Triennial in Santo Domingo, D.R (2010), the Asuncion Biennial, Paraguay (2015, 2019) and the Curitiba Biennial, Brazil (2017). Estrada is a co-founder and curator of Unpack Studio Art Projects & Residency in Havana, Cuba.

ROSA LABORDÉ, Chair is a playwright, screenwriter, director and actress and has been a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award, Dora Mavor Moore award and received the K.M. Hunter Artist’s Award for Theatre. She also garnered a Gemini nomination for her acting in television and a Dora Nomination. She is Co-Artistic Director for Criminal Theatre and is Playwright-in-Residence at the Tarragon Theatre and Aluna Theatre. She is a graduate of The Oxford School of Drama and The Canadian Film Centre.

SEBASTIAN MENA, Chair is a first-generation Canadian-Chilean artist from the West Coast with over three decades of experience in the performing arts. His artistic path began at Puente Theater under the mentorship of Lina de Guevara, a pioneering Chilean director. Sebastian moved to Toronto to train at the School of Toronto Dance Theatre, where he transitioned into a professional dance career. In 2008, he founded Monster Feelings, a multi- disciplinary performance arts collective. His work has been featured in festivals such as the Toronto Fringe, the Salvador Allende Festival for the Arts, and FFIDA. Sebastian graduated from the University of Toronto where he produced and co-hosted "El CafeciTo," a podcast.

CARMEN REYES, Director is a Graphic and Web designer. She studied at the Ontario College of Art and Design and Ryerson University. Carmen Reyes is Director of SeeThrough Web of which she manages the manufacturing, production and operations of the service company.
